Laurie Priest, Massachusetts – 1992
Laurie Priest is currently the Chair of Physical Education and Director or Athletics at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Prior to coming to Mount Holyoke in 1989, Laurie served for seven years as director of athletics, assistant professor, and swimming coach at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
Priest has been active professionally on the state, regional, and national levels and serving in 1989-90 as the President of the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport. She has published numerous articles, is a frequent presenter at conferences, and in the spring of 1991 was awarded the Mable Lee Award by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
She is active on NCAA committees and currently serves as the president of the New England Women’s Eight Athletic Conference.
