Lynn Oberbillig, Massachusetts – 2007

Lynn Oberbillig is currently in her 17th year as the Director of Athletics at Smith College.  She received bachelor and master degrees from the University of Iowa and an MBA from Nicholls State University.  Her coaching career included high school level softball and basketball, and college level basketball.  She received recognition from the National Fastpitch Softball Coaches’ Association for 300+ wins.  She officiated high school basketball and high school, division III, and ASA softball.
                           
Lynn’s outreach to area girls includes an annual National Girls and Women in Sport Day clinic for girls in grades 3-6.  She is involved with the high school indoor track league and western MA championship, the high school field hockey and tennis tournaments, and Bay State Games and AAU tryouts.

On the administrative level, Lynn hosted twenty-five ADs from across the country for the two-day Haverford group conference.  She has received two NCAA diversity and student/athlete grants and the Nike Power of Play grant.  Lynn teaches graduate level courses in administration of coaching, pedagogy, philosophy, and ethics.  She teaches undergraduate courses in conditioning, badminton, golf, bowling, billiards, volleyball, and basketball. 

Lynn serves on NCAA committees including budget, softball rules committee, and the soccer and field hockey committees.  She has served as President of NEWMAC Conference, President of MAIAW, Chair of the Seven Sisters Organization (3 times), and NCAA committees for softball and rowing.  She is also on the Hickory Ridge Country Club Board of Directors.
