Missy Foote, Vermont – 1997

Missy has been involved in WomanSport as a high school coach of field hockey, swimming, basketball and lacrosse.  For the past twenty years, she has been coaching field hockey and lacrosse at Middlebury College.  In addition to her work at the college level, Missy has been a coach and director of many camps for local girls in grades 4-12.  She has also coached at YES Clinics in field hockey and lacrosse.  Attendees at coaching conventions and participants of high school Athletic Award nights have also learned from her.

Middlebury College is affiliated with the NCASA, ECAC and NESCAC.  Missy is also affiliated with the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association.

Teams coached by Missy have accumulated a record of 135-75-12 in field hockey and 151-57-1 in lacrosse.  Her field hockey teams have earned spots in NIAC Tournaments from 1984-1986, ECAC from 1990-1993, and won the championship in 1993; and the NCAA semifinals in 1994 and quarter-finals in 1996.  Lacrosse teams coached by Missy earned a spot in the NIAC tournament in 1988 where they won the championship.

Missy was designated as the 1994 CFHCA regional and national Coach of the Year in field hockey.  IWLCA named her the Regional Coach of the Year in 1992, 1994, 1996, and 1997.  They also named her the National Coach of the Year in 1994 and 1997.
