Ann-Marie Moggio, Massachusetts – 2009

Ann-Marie Moggio has worked at the Northampton Recreation Department for 20 years where she oversees and administrates the youth and adult soccer, basketball, and softball/baseball leagues.  She is a member of the Pioneer Valley Parks and Recreation Association and the National Recreation and Parks Association.  She also has been a National Youth Sport Coaches’ Association clinician for 18 years.

As a constant advocate for girls in sports and recreation, Ann-Marie is responsible for programs serving over 200 girls each year.  She attributes much of what she has accomplished to another Hall of Fame member.  “With Gush Valenta as a mentor when I was just starting out, I have always been involved in and believed in the important role of sport in a girl’s life.”

Ann-Marie feels “privileged to have a job” that allows her to encourage girls and women to be involved in sports and recreation.
