Judith A. Sullivan, Massachusetts – 1994

Judith, Associate Director of Athletics and Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of MA, Dartmouth, is a 1972 graduate of Bridgewater State College.  Prior to her affiliation with UMass, Dartmouth, she was a teacher-coach at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School and at Coyle-Cassidy High School, Taunton.  At the high school level she coached field hockey, basketball, volleyball, and tennis.  Many of her teams have qualified for post-season play.

She has been a member of the Southern Massachusetts Board of Officials (secretary, 1971-72) as a rated basketball and field hockey official.

Judith has received numerous honors and awards for her work as a coach and advocate for women’s sports.  In 1987, she was the recipient of the MAIAW Merit Award for Leadership in Women’s Athletics.  She has received several “Coach of the Year” Awards: in 1979 from Converse, Inc., in 1988 from the New England Coaches Association, in 1988 from the Little East Conference, and in 1988 from Southeastern Massachusetts University.  Judith was inducted into the Bridgewater State College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991.
