OLIVE NOLAN.  We salute you today…..

…for your skills as a tennis player at the LaSalle Seminary in Waltham, and as a skier in North Conway, NH in your youth.
ONolan3…for your success at Sargent College at Boston University and the positive influence you had on your classmates and others as a student.
…for leading Regis College in the right direction as a teacher, coach, and director of physical education and athletics from 1948-1988.

…for rejuvenating the volleyball board of officials in the 1970’s.

…for your untiring energy as a volleyball, basketball, and softball coach.

…for your play on the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts state teams and as an officer.

…for your contributions to the basketball officials and volleyball officials organizations.

…for being part of the trio of NOLAN WOMEN who got so much done for girls and women’s sports.  Claire – the frontperson and spokesperson, Olive – the quiet force and worker in the background, and Margaret – who had the final word on all projects.

…for setting high expectations and high standards for all and raising students to the highest levels of achievement because they didn’t want to disappoint her.

…for having an influence on so many students as to their overall understanding
of themselves and the diversity that makes them unique.

…for being a mentor before mentors were popular. This is evident when all reunion classes want Olive Nolan to come back for their reunion.  The annual reunion luncheon is a Nolan sister run event.

…for helping with the development of the New Agenda: Northeast and its
programs since its inception, and using your connections at the Woodland
Country Club for hosting meetings, special events, and this Hall of Fame
Luncheon.

…for working with the MIAA as the girls’ golf tournament director and hosting the event here at the Woodland Golf Club.
