Pamela Childs, New Hampshire- 2008

Pam is currently the Internship Coordinator for Health and Human Performance at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH, where she is also an adjunct faculty member.   She spent 13 years as the Head Coach of Field Hockey and 21 years as the Head Softball Coach at the University of Vermont.  She also taught in the Physical Education Program at UVM during this time.  For 17 years, Pam was the Director of the University of Vermont Field Hockey and Softball Camps.

In her coaching career, Pam has had many outstanding players who received all conference recognition.  However, she is “most proud of how (her) teams competed academically,”  with more than 10 athletes per year selected to the Softball America East All-Academic Team and over 10 athletes earning recognition on the Field Hockey Academic Honor Roll in the America East Conference.

“I have committed most of my professional life to helping young women mature and gain confidence in themselves through sport.  I have always believed that it was my responsibility to mentor them beyond and teach them more than just sport alone.  For that I am extremely proud.”
