Pamela Moffo, Connecticut – 2012

Pamela Moffo, Connecticut – 2012

“The opportunities I’ve been given have been incredible! challenging, extremely rewarding and fun. My involvement in girls/womens sports continues to be a ‘labor of love’!” Those words are from a woman who rushed in when Title IX opened the doors. Whether she was announcing women’s basketball games at Springfield College, competing on their softball team or rooting for others – Pamela found her passion and focused her energy on providing and promoting girls’ sports when she began her teaching career.

Pamela Moffo has spent 39 years as an advocate for girls’ sports “and proudly so!” From 1973 to 1995 she served as head coach of 3 different sports (field hockey, basketball, and softball) at Conard High School. In addition, she was director of a girls’ basketball summer overnight camp from 1978-1986.

She has been a guest speaker for Girl Scout and Brownie troops as a means of promoting her passion for sports. In 2004 Pamela was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame and in 2010 she was inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. She is also currently on the executive board of the Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
