Pamela Spencer, Massachusetts – Jan, 1995

Pamela is a teacher and coach in the Arlington Public Schools where she has coached field hockey (1977 – present), basketball (1985 – 1990), and softball (1977 – present).  She is also a member of the Boston Board of Officials and holds ratings in softball and basketball.  Prior to becoming a teacher and coach at Arlington High School, Pamela played varsity softball, basketball and field hockey for four years while a student there.  Her high school career included a Globe All-Scholastic Honorable Mention in softball and field hockey in 1977, “Best Athlete” in 1977, and recipient of the Frederick V. Ostregen Award.  Her league affiliations have been with the Greater Boston League.  She has served as league representative for field hockey (1988-1990) and for softball (1989-1993).

Pamela’s teams have amassed the following records:  Field Hockey 73-44-51, Softball 78-45.  Her field hockey teams were league champs in 1988 and 1989.  They made tournament play in 1988, 1992, and 1993 and tournament semi-finals in 1989 and 1990.  Pamela was named Greater Boston League Field Hockey Coach of the Year in 1988 and Softball Coach of the Year in 1989.  In addition to her work at Arlington High School, Pamela has also worked with the Special Olympics, is a member of the Sportsman’s Club of Arlington, and has served as a league representative to the Boston Globe for field hockey and softball.
