Rose Somensini, Massachusetts – 1990

Rose is a physical education teacher and coach at Burlington High School in Burlington, Massachusetts. Her coaching career covers a period from 1962 to 1975, during which time she coached basketball, softball, field hockey, volleyball, and tennis. She has been a very active member of the Boston Board of Officials, the New Hampshire Board of Officials, and the Hudson Valley Board of Officials. She holds national ratings in softball and basketball. Rose has played an active role in the development and implementation of the Massachusetts Girl’s State Tournament. As a past-president of the Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, she was involved with many issues dealing with girls’ athletics.
