Ruth Beaton, Massachusetts – 2022
For thirty-three years, Ruth Beaton has had a hand in the development of youthful beginners and accomplished high school athletes in the West Newbury Massachusetts Youth Leagues and at Pentucket Regional High School. Ruth tapped in early to a philosophy of coaching that adversity and success can both lead to trans- forming an athlete….”it’s all in the mindset.”
Well-rounded in the coaching area, Ruth has coached field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, base- ball, track and cheerleading with a high degree of success. How were all these successes mea- sured, you ask?
-US FieldHockey, The Boston Globe and the Cape Ann League have awarded her Coach of the Year six times.
-Multiplesportsmanship awards
-AMIAA Distinguished Service Award
Achievement is often measured in wins and losses, but Ruth is one of those coaches who cher- ishes what sport does for personal growth and character in her athletes.
As any coach in the room knows, you don’t stay in athletics as a game official and coach for thir- ty-three years unless you have a love of what you do. Ruth has set the bar high for her athletes and they have responded well to her energy and her positivity. Let’s welcome this 2022 Inductee to the New Agenda-Northeast Hall of Fame!
